I just had to squeeze one last Christmas card! <br />Actually, this one can be Christmas or New Year and yes, it's another scene I'm afraid... </span></div>
<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip5NJ7iI_OLLAuSbb1oRAnr3wHmWmg0jzevic3vgU10-fU4vt1PR49BnwK1h-UrzMY35L9bcdpDm7DXUxY2IMdgZKcCkdlZgufm4vbzSfspmR5QvNMriRCriu3lQSavQq-0G3PYbYTOh01dEv-voYSjwVZ6n7chD12bBA4KWesJ4lDPHDqZGwlOtWIk_0/s3508/Snow%20Church%20Lowres.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2986" data-original-width="3508" height="523" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip5NJ7iI_OLLAuSbb1oRAnr3wHmWmg0jzevic3vgU10-fU4vt1PR49BnwK1h-UrzMY35L9bcdpDm7DXUxY2IMdgZKcCkdlZgufm4vbzSfspmR5QvNMriRCriu3lQSavQq-0G3PYbYTOh01dEv-voYSjwVZ6n7chD12bBA4KWesJ4lDPHDqZGwlOtWIk_0/w640-h544/Snow%20Church%20Lowres.jpg" title="Snowy landscape with Crafty Individuals" width="615" /></a></div><br />
<div>All stamps are from Crafty Individuals. <br />I stamped the church (I only inked the church itself) from the CI-474 set in Versafine Pinecone and masked it. </div><div>I created the background sky and snowy hills with Distress inks and paper masks and although the impression is grey there is pink and blue in sky! </div><div>I added the trees, the left hand one is from CI-450, the right hand one is from CI-209 and added the sheep from CI-467. </div><div>A bit of pencil work on the church, path and snow as well as a few touches of gel pen for snow on branches and roof to finish. </div><div><br /></div><div>It does feel desolate, but a snow laden sky will do that... <br />Only one thing left to say... </div><br />

Pip, the red breasted robin, is die-cut using the printed image (Two Red Robins). <br />

Both use Lavinia stamps and the oval and circle backgrounds have been printed using the Gelli plate. </span></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdQDQlLyIcEXThI3XkldQe2rGJgSe8ZEanQ8yPHFcTQUGDGF_GrarU7fPk9pK0KP9QDcg1CN2BuDlKMiEzYiBUiiCe6GOwEw5HxYFswK6svw7x4i6YIrQc_2crFtpE-oDflWSXPXezHbff7xf0EEOvOqMWry7qBBEm9gt_9w0v_xaEF3uThJeGjyQz8fU/s3221/White%20Winter%20Blizzard%20circle%20Lowres.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3044" data-original-width="3221" height="378" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdQDQlLyIcEXThI3XkldQe2rGJgSe8ZEanQ8yPHFcTQUGDGF_GrarU7fPk9pK0KP9QDcg1CN2BuDlKMiEzYiBUiiCe6GOwEw5HxYFswK6svw7x4i6YIrQc_2crFtpE-oDflWSXPXezHbff7xf0EEOvOqMWry7qBBEm9gt_9w0v_xaEF3uThJeGjyQz8fU/w400-h378/White%20Winter%20Blizzard%20circle%20Lowres.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div>I made the background by inking the circle plate with light blue dye ink and sprinkled a tiny bit of brushos, Turquoise for the sky and Moss green for the "hills". Using my stamping platform, I stamped that first circle. Then I inked the plate with pigment ink and over stamped the background for a foggy effect. </div><div>The Fairy Fir Tree (LAV478) was then partially stamped 3 times.
<br />A few die-cuts to finish (Sizzix). </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTjNUYy4qGH2fGk3zJ5zZmQpOiHrXFNVG-fMwEq4sQsmgs0dBCu7RFUWtyBv-npPo7zulOznbE1DWZxzjPBiGGvTMA3NZWo3V4Ke4NA58zlCH1TzrN8S9SrA5r4aihKMGqn0uQzGVKd30A0noxOxiHdMBufhfflD-2iHlFTpAzsjt7mdZZyJIcipf0QKo/s3040/White%20Winter%20Blizzard%20oval%20Lowres.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2981" data-original-width="3040" height="393" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTjNUYy4qGH2fGk3zJ5zZmQpOiHrXFNVG-fMwEq4sQsmgs0dBCu7RFUWtyBv-npPo7zulOznbE1DWZxzjPBiGGvTMA3NZWo3V4Ke4NA58zlCH1TzrN8S9SrA5r4aihKMGqn0uQzGVKd30A0noxOxiHdMBufhfflD-2iHlFTpAzsjt7mdZZyJIcipf0QKo/w400-h393/White%20Winter%20Blizzard%20oval%20Lowres.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div>The background was made the same way as before, except I splattered some acrylic ink for snow instead of stamping pigment ink. <br />The oval die-cut is from Craft Companion. </div>

<br />Today is a special day... I am featuring as GDT on the <a href="https://creativeartistemixedmedia.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Creative Artist Challenge</a> blog, where the theme is Anything Mixed Media goes! I would usually have paints involved for a Mixed Media make but my muse decided otherwise... <br />I was itching to use wood again and make a door hanger (see my previous one <a href="https://craftyfield.blogspot.com/2021/11/door-sign.html" target="_blank">here</a>) with a garden theme. </div><br />

It should all be fine from now on and today's post should not appear more than once...</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho4OmhBi-YVp0WLO10pL4afftP8zrt1P0x3SOYVWyCVY74QmHaLI7OyTXSCpfm6yiBeBbL1xAhKKFkNTkF7z4ySNBbvPEd-EQYbgbGwekdO7QV9o-6jSuw49yyBwHuymNPxUvBx3KdvKCo6hkFFTDk1Wi94XiRwfd_ANe6pJaMwt-7oT1fRwTCHqooWC8/s3281/Oak%20leaves%20and%20mushrooms%20Lowres.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3000" data-original-width="3281" height="563" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho4OmhBi-YVp0WLO10pL4afftP8zrt1P0x3SOYVWyCVY74QmHaLI7OyTXSCpfm6yiBeBbL1xAhKKFkNTkF7z4ySNBbvPEd-EQYbgbGwekdO7QV9o-6jSuw49yyBwHuymNPxUvBx3KdvKCo6hkFFTDk1Wi94XiRwfd_ANe6pJaMwt-7oT1fRwTCHqooWC8/w640-h586/Oak%20leaves%20and%20mushrooms%20Lowres.jpg" title="Autumn scene with Lavinia stamps" width="615" /></a></div>
<br /><br />The scene has been built with the following Lavinia stamps and a mix of dye inks and Versafine: <br />- LAV431 Moon <br />- LAV 564 Mini Forest Mushroom <br />- LAV 760 Oak Leaf Flourish <div>- Tree Scene </div><div>
<br />Hills were created with paper masks, and I used a paper from an old pad and a piece of Kraft cardstock to mat the image. <br />The final flourishes come in the shape of leaf brads, which I have had in my stash for decades, having bought them when they were all the rage... but aren't they perfect here?! </div><div><br /></div><div>So, if you haven't joined our <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/164920247712393" target="_blank">Facebook group</a> yet, hop on over and click on "Join Group", answer a few questions and upload your project(s) in the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.626978142948042&type=3" target="_blank">album</a>. The DT shows off new makes every few days to inspire you... </div><div><br /></div><div>On another note... you may have noticed I have changed my profile picture, the vision in pink of a Sarah Kay girlie to which I hung on way too long, for a more representative image of my style, combining both my love of CAS and Vintage.</div><div> <br />

Is that a burst of creativity? No, not really, just a catch-up exercise. 2 weeks ago, I showed again my <a href="https://craftyfield.blogspot.com/2023/07/not-going-to-next-round.html" target="_blank">Meerkats Got Talent page</a> on Facebook and they are so funny I wanted to give them a new platform after their disappointment at the singing contest. Today they are just having fun with fallen leaves:</div><br />

I bypassed the Gesso step and the result isn't any worse for it, in fact it is one the easiest and quickest landscape I have ever painted!<div><br /></div><div>I stamped a few of the meerkats in various colours of Distress Oxide inks and coloured them with pencils. Then, I had to fussy cut them.... my most hated crafting job, but it had to be done!</div><div><br /></div><div>The leaves have been die-cut and punched from a piece of Kraft colour paper to which I applied Distress Oxide inks in Fired Brick, Twisted Citron, Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain. And since the Oxides have a tendency to lighten after a while, I enhanced them with some Distress dye inks as well. </div><div>Finally I spattered a bit of Walnut Stain Distress spray.</div><div><br /></div><div>
I layered leaves and meerkats on different levels with foam pads to give the impression they are wading through a stack of fallen leaves.</div><div><br /></div><div>The little guys still make me smile and I hope they will do the same for you!<br /><div><br />
