Textile gift idea

I have made several phone covers for myself in the past and got admiring glances from someone who I thought would appreciate an upgrade... I like this type of gifts because it's a useful one and it's in constant use, thereby showcasing your talents to all and sundry!

Christmas Tags

In what is becoming an annual event I have been making my "rubbish" tags again....

As you can see they are all different, which is not ideal for mass making but is an excellent way of using up some scraps, rather than binning them.... hence the "Rubbish" tag moniker!

Deer tag:

Creative Expressions Warped Circles Stencils
D. Oxides in Picked Raspberry and Twisted Citron
Memory Box Deer die-cut
Scrap of foiled cardstock.
Versafine ink
Wow Embossing powder in Fairy Tale

X-mas tree:

Crafter's Companion Pearlescent patterned cardstock
Memory box Christmas tree die
Green Distress and pigment inks
Wow Embossing powder in Fairy Tale
Die'sire Merry Christmas die

Butterfly tag:
Gelli print with Starlight paints
TCW Mini Specimen stencil (TCW454S)
Grunge paste tinted with acrylic paint
Versafine ink
Clear EP
Stamp from my own collection

Branches tag:

MFT Snowfall Stencils
Branches Die-cut
Prima Heavy Gesso
Graphmaster acrylic paint marker
Merry Christmas stamp (Freebie from magazine)
Versamark
White EP
Signpost Tag :

Gloss paper and Ranger alcohol inks
Spellbinders Victorian Signpost S2-177 die
White embossing powder
Merry Christmas stamp (freebie from magazine)

The light conditions are so difficult at this time of the year I photographed all my tags in direct sunlight to show the shine and also in the shade to give a better idea of the colours, especially for the very shiny Butterfly and Signpost tags.

Let me know what you think!

I am entering the following challenges: Addicted to stamps, SSS Wednesday Challenge, Paperbabe, WOW Embossing powders and Vintage Journey (I don't know about marvels but all my tags are indeed less than 4").

Gift for the girls

There is nothing like a hand made gift for the girl that has everything... something with a personal touch and absolutely unique, is the answer for those times when nothing fits the bill.

With a fast approaching Christmas, I constructed and decorated this box from Art-C for a girlfriend to keep her jewellery in, well some of it anyway...

It's an easy project and, having chosen to cover the box entirely with paper, a fairly quick one to make too!

Supplies:
Art-C Masonite Shelf with Drawers kit
Imagination Crafts Rice paper
Scrap of recycled metal die-cut (Spellbinders - Persian accents)
Kaiserkraft stamp
Imagination Crafts: Starlights in Dark Orchid
DecoArt Metallic Lustre Wax Finish - Champagne Ice
Gesso
DecoArt Matte medium
DecoArt Ultra matte varnish

Do come over to the Craft Barn blog for the full step by step.

Starlight Express

Today I'm showing on the Craft Barn blog my first project with the truly shiny Starlight paints.

They have to be seen (in real life) to be believed and I really enjoyed working with them.

Do come over to the Craft Barn for a step by step makeover of my tissue box.
