Inspired By Clare LLoyd

This week I made my (crafty) life easy and when emulating Clare's project I started with a blue colour and kept on going... one sure way of making an harmonious colour scheme!

Also, as I didn't have the stamps Clare used, I pulled out one of my Hot Picks (1204) and only used stamps from that sheet.

I followed Clare's step by step quite faithfully apart from the a half hearted attempt at ombré on my textured hexagons and I used inks rather than paint for my stamping - told you I was making my life easy!-

I am also entering the piece in the following challenges: SSS Monday Challenge (Blues), Artful Times (Shades of Blue) and Country View Craft's (Monochromatic).

Thanks for coming by,

  1. Very effective canvas, even if you were 'making life easy' it looks very well done to me! I love the background and also the HP flower heads. What is ombre? Did I miss something on Clare's post, or is there something I should know about and don't! Julie Ann xx

    1. Ombre was very big throughout 2013 in the crafting world in the States. It means a gradated colour or colours. Why they use the French word ombre for it is a mystery though...

    1. Yes, the hexagons have been stencilled with texture paste before I tried the ombre colouring on them!

  16. Thanks for the link! You have really inspired me to try this. I have all of the 'stuff' so will try to do it. If it turns out half as nice as yours I will cheer. A really beautiful piece. Hang and don't frame it. It's beautiful without a frame!!
