It's January, and traditionally we expect cold, frost and snow and this is reflected in this month's challenges themes! I decided to follow the theme with a New Year's card using a stamp I just bought in the sales. It happens to be a Halloween stamp (Stampendous) and although I only make Halloween cards under duress, I couldn't resist the bargain... Still, I knew I could work with it and replaced the "Beware" warning by a coat of silver paint and the year. Not so frightening now!
To colour the image I used watercolours in 2 shades of blue adding some black on the stonework which didn't stamp as solidly as I wanted it too because of the grain of the watercolour paper.
I splattered some white for snow and, on a whim, the left over silver paint on my palette.
I am entering the Rubber Dance, Craft Stamper, and the That's Crafty challenges.
Thanks for coming by,
P.S Those with eagle eyes might have noticed I have an addition to my bragging column (on the right panel) Yess... I won the DT pick at Rubber Dance for December but I was also lucky to win the random prize. Watch this space for projects with their lovely stamps...
