In Black And White

Happy Sunday crafters!

Well this is turning out to be a very grey day....
a good time for another Black and white theme card!

The stamp is Crafty Individuals "Of The Sea" (CI-559) simply stamped in black Versafine, and the die I used to cut the card is AALL & Create #78 - Die-Cutting Die Set - Roadway Vistas die set.
It is hard for me to refrain from colours but a detailed stamp like this looks good on its own!

Arctic Antarctic Album

Hello crafters!

Today I have a second inspiration make for our Country View Challenge on the theme of "Wintry Scenes" hosted by Rachel.

This one has been a slow burn project... an album to add photos to.
Warning this is a photo heavy post!

The above is the cover below a few pages:

There are pocket pages, waterfall, chipboard and small die-cuts to tuck the photos with. But if you want to see all the pages hop to youtube here where my glamorous,  assistant (no, the hairy arms are not mine!) gives a short walkthrough of the pages.

Supplies:
Paper: Arctic Antarctic collection by Stamperia (since I have been slow in the making of the album this collection is not available anymore...)
Black tape: Stix2
Dies: pages cut with Tonic Studios Keepsake Book Maker die set, various brands for the embellishments.

To enter the challenge, hop on to our friendly group here and upload your project to the challenge album. You could win a a lovely set of Tim Holtz's Tiny Text Stamps from the Country View Craft shop.

#815 Close to nature

Hello crafters,
This fortnight, the Allsorts challenge optional theme, chosen by Brenda, is "Close to Nature". As usual you can also enter with an "anything goes" theme.

My inspiration is a scene I made using some stamps never used before!

I used an oval polymer plate (like a Gelli plate) to ink my background with inks and Brushos powders.

After stamping the bird and the scene (Simply Cards & Papercraft Issue 237) in black Versafine, I added white pastel pencil and some gel pen to the snow areas and the bird's feathers.

Finally I die-cut my scene with the AALL & Create #33 Splodazzlers and added a rectangular mat.

Hop on to the Allsorts blog to upload your project for a chance to win three prizes of A5 stamp sets from AALL and Create

Black & White

Hello crafters,

today a quick post and an unusual colour scheme for this card as I road test my new dies:

I first stamped the Crafty Individual "The Village Inn and Church" (CI-474) with black Versafine.

The other elements, including the mat, are die-cut: the trees and "fence" are from the AALL & Create #78 set (Roadway Vistas). Once die-cut, I applied black ink on top of the embossed areas to show off the details.

The base card and the black mat are die-cut with the AALL & Create  #77 die set (Climbing Woods).

Note: I suspect the names of these 2 die sets have been mistakenly swapped but that is the way they show up in all craft websites.

It feels quite odd to create in stark black and white and I might try the same design with colours too!

Matching pairs

Hello crafters,

We have a new theme this fortnight at Allsorts, "Matching Pairs", you can also enter with an Anything Goes option. I have chosen to make a bag and matching tag with some gorgeous and very old papers!
If like me you have a plethora of paper that you cannot bear to cut into, this project is for you!

To make the bag I followed Nigezza's tutorial here. The tag I die cut (partially) from another piece of paper of the same paper.

Supplies:
Paper: Chatsworth by Paper Artsy
Sentimentally Yours:  Essential Sentiments SYC007.
Die set: AALL & Create #33 Splodazzlers

Hop on to Allsorts and upload your make for the chance to win 2 prizes of Lavinia Stamps. You can enter up to 5 times and worthy entries will earn a place in the Top 7.

Wintry Scene with Lavinia

Hello crafters!
Today I have a first inspiration make for our Country View Challenge held in the Facebook group. This month the theme is "Wintry Scenes" hosted by Rachel.

More snow in my scene than in real life in England...

I created the background with Versafine inks and paper masks for the "hills".

I stamped my Fairy Fir tree (LAV478), Small Pine Trees (LAV836), Forest Moss (LAV857) just peeking from the snow, the Small Robins (LAV928) and Mini Mistletoe (LAV926). Most of those are new to me so I just had to use them!

I die-cut the scene and a matching mat with the AALL & Create #78 - Die-Cutting Die Set - Roadway Vistas die set.

A few dab of gel pen here and there for snow and the white of the mistletoe berries finish the scene.

I hope I have inspired you to enter the challenge! Do hop on to our friendly group here and upload your project to the challenge album. You could win a prize from  the Country View Craft shop.
