Amp up your stencils!


This Autumn I am starting a Mixed Media feature on the STAMPlorations blog.

I have chosen 4 different techniques that will add oomph/zing to your stencilling. First up the "bump" technique which gives a shadow or highlight impression as in the background of this card:

Adding extra to simple stencilling

It is normally used with acrylic paints, since the technique needs the medium used to be opaque.

Supplies:
Flowers 2 - ARTplorations
Basic A2 Panels Nesting Dies
Flutter Zen 1 Layering Dies
Everyday Sentiments

For those who prefer inks I tested an alternative on this card:

    Two lovely creations Christine, I am really drawn to the Sunflowers with their rich colours (check out this morning Allsorts theme).

    A great technique - those sunflowers look simply glorious! Sorry to hear about the empty nest syndrome... but yes, start planning that craft space - it will hopefully distract you a bit! Sorry that I've been so utterly hopeless blogging-wise - it's been quite a year (and a bit). Take care.

    Oh, elles sont super classes tes deux cartes !!! Vraiment belles. Tu maîtrises parfaitement cette technique... Je file sur le blog lire ton article et te laisser un petit com' bien mérité... :) Désolé d'être un peu tardive, je peinse en ce moment à tout faire. Du coup, je n'avais pas vu que ce moi-ci, tu étais à l'honneur sur le blog de Stamplorations, chouette !! ;-)
