Mixed Media page

Today I'm showing a Mixed Media piece I created for the Craft Barn blog.

This one involves quite a lot of techniques and products, but if you follow my step by step it is still easy to create.

Shabby chic ATCs

I have been inspired by Jennie's ATCs over on the Paper Artsy blog and tried my hand at her technique. It didn't exactly turned out the way I hoped... that is, the way Jennie's background looked... Still it's all a learning experience!

Textile gift idea

I have made several phone covers for myself in the past and got admiring glances from someone who I thought would appreciate an upgrade... I like this type of gifts because it's a useful one and it's in constant use, thereby showcasing your talents to all and sundry!

January blues

If you were not cold enough already with winter being in full swing in the Northern hemisphere, here's a card with icy colours.

Out of my comfort zone

I had to try my hand at ATCs again for the Paper Artsy challenge and today I'm following Claire's colour scheme to challenge myself out of my usual colours.

Dream come true

After the holidays I'm trying to re-boot my Mojo and making tags seems to be an easy way to get creative again.

Beautiful World

Happy New Year crafters!

To start us off, Country View is having an Anything goes theme challenge, easy right?

Most of the work on this card is done by the card blank, which  is a Diorama by Die'sire, 8x6" when folded flat, with matching envelope. The diorama card comes with a front and a back panel which you stick together as you wish and, I haven't tried yet, but in my mind, if I fold and glue the tabs inwards I should be able to use a 6x6" card envelope although this would be thicker.

First I created an opening using square die on one of the panels, for the front of the card.
I created 3 layers of die-cut cities, gluing the New York skyline in mirror board to the back page, a London sky line to the middle and the Eiffel tower on the front. There is plenty of space in the diorama for more but I didn't have any more cities...

To frame the card I added the Diesire Create a Card - Delicate Swirls Square Overlay die cut and two of Tim Holtz/Sizzixwords from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Adventure Words to finish.
A kind of Happy New Year to the world...

Here's a side view so you can see the depth of the card:

Merry Christmas

So this is Christmas... [I'm singing this song as I write this...] and what have I done for the Craft Barn blog, I hear you ask? Well, a Christmas card of course!

I wondered if I should call on my Oops Birdie for the occasion but he declined, on account that the poor fellow did not want to be confused with a turkey... [didn't have the heart to tell him there's zero chance of that!!!]

Instead, just to prove that fungi aren't just for Autumn, I enlisted my Mushroom Lane house, which I found snowed in since we last saw it.
I believe there has been, as well as snow, several glitter showers recently....

So without further ado,

Supplies:
Riley and Company Mushroom Lane Cling Stamps - House 2
Find it Trading Dies: Yvonne Creations - Merry Christmas
cArt-us glitter cardboard: White and blackColouring: alcohol markers, white acrylic paint, silver gel pen.

The fun thing about this card is the way the partially die-cut "Merry Christmas" projects its shadow on whatever is behind. Like so:

I do hope you will have a great time during the 12 days of the season and that New Year will find you in fine fettle and rearing to craft.

Merry Christmas to you all!!!
I am entering the Lost Coast Designs, Fashionable Stamping, The Artistic Stamper, Unikostudio and We Love To Create  challenges.
