With the mask I first used distress inks, then sprayed some mica mists over the top.The stamped images are from Paper Artsy, I wished the bus was darker but my ink is too dry and my paper not smooth enough ! Finally with several sizes of Spellbinders Nestabilities I created my "cogs". I used Versamark and mica powders to give them a bit more dimension and when the light catches they really shine :
I am really looking forward to completing the calendar now !
If you have any favorite black ink or tips about black ink don't hold back... I am all ears !
Great cogs and gears on your calendar and beautiful colours. I use Jet Black Archival or Onyx Versafine to get a really black image.
ReplyDeleteThe colours from the mica mists are beautiful. I like your spellbinder 'cogs'. I use Memento Tuxedo Black. Very black and great on detailed stamps.
ReplyDeleteVery artistic & beautiful! My favorite black ink is Versafine Onyx Black--never fails me!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you used the colors on your gear. They're beautiful. I use stazon jet black but maybe you just need some reinker for your pad.

Wonderful colours, love the mica powder effect. Great minds think alike, I too thought of cogs and gears, my calendar page is waiting to be downloaded as soon as I find the time and light to photograph it!.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours on this. I use Versafine onyx black or Stewart Superior India Ink but I agree with woodand fabric maybe your pad just needs some reinker.
ReplyDeleteWonderful page here! I actually like the way your bus sits in the background. It adds depth and had it been darker, I fear it would have overwhelmed all the other elements. I nearly chose cogs too but I'm glad I didn't because you have done a much more exciting page than I would have produced. Really loving the mica sprays - they add such a gorgeous gleam to your work.
