New year, new dawn

Hello crafters, this month the theme of our Country View challenge is Landscape/Cityscape, chosen by yours truly. Regular visitors know scenes are my thing so there you are…

The die-cut of the New York skyline (MFT Die-namics New York Skyline) is striking on its own but the addition of the Visible Image Stencil Strobes stencil really brings it to life.

All I did was applying Distress inks through the stencil starting light in the center and darkening progressively. The only difficulty is that, having placed the centre of the stencil to the left of the card, it wasn't big enough to cover the whole card anymore and I had to extend the sunrays.
To do that, I placed 2 pieces of acetate along the lines of the sunrays inked through the stencil and applied the Distress inks, sunray by sun ray. A bit fiddly but not overly taxing!

I chose the Hello sentiment from Tim Holtz Thinlits 660215 (Sentiments words) because it was the closest to the "Good morning New York" that came to my mind, as a nod to the Good morning Vietnam from the film.

Don't forget to drop by the Country View Challenge blog for more inspiration from my teamies.

Happy and crafty New Year!
I am entering the SSS Wednesday and challenges.
