Dare to Dream

The written word, our theme for the Country View Challenge this month, is perfect for Journalling, after all journals are originally all about words! Today I'm showing a journal page featuring stamps for my journaling instead of handwriting as I don't like my own…

I prepared my journal pages (a calendar) by applying a generous layer of gesso.

For colours I used Gelatos and scribbled several colours before spreading them with a baby wipe.
Next I used a stencil (Crafters Workshop Mini Ledger) to remove colour, also with a baby wipe. I added colour with the Imagination Crafts Stencil - Drop Screen.

Then onto the stamping, all the stamps are from Rubber Dance:

For the background I used blue and pink dye ink to help the words fade into the layers of Gelatos.
from left to right, Art Defined, Summer Love and bits of the Vintage postcard.

The main journaling words, from the Affirmations set,  have been stamped with the stark black of Archival ink.

Finally I sprayed Prima Blooms in Precious Stone through the Layered stencil Rays by Tim Holtz to fill in the corners that looked a little too bare.

I hope to see you join in our Country View Challenge, you still have 2 weeks to create something wordy to be in with a chance to win a £20 voucher…

Thanks for coming by,
I am entering the Stamping SensationsAddicted to stamps, Craft Stamper TIMI, Vintage Journey and Rubber Dance Forever challenges.

  1. I think we are all much the same about our own handwriting Christine, a lovely fusion of colours with the subtle rays.

  2. I agreee with Brenda... most of us don't like our own handwriting but that's part of what makes us special and unique, so I try to embrace mine even when I think it's 'naff'!

Lovely pages - great colours and great stamping. I have that stamp somewhere... as an old Time to Stamp image. Perfect for this time of year. Thanks for the reminder.
