This summer whizzed by and it's time for our September Country View Challenge! The theme is Planes, Trains, Automobiles hosted by Miriam. It had been a while since I played in my journal so...
I didn't take photos along the way because, as I wasn't following any plans, the direction kept changing! My "technical" process was, more or less, to throw things at it until I was satisfied with it.
For the base layer I used some Prima papers, which can be glimpsed on the border, under the crackle paste (Prima Texture Paste Clear crackle). Successives layers included, blue and buff acrylic paints, gesso, Grunge paste through a stencil (Tim Holtz Layering Mini Stencil Set #35 ) and finally powders, a mix of Paper Artsy Infusions and Bistres.
I then stamped my vehicles (both planes and train are from a Katzelkraft set) and bits of map (La Mappa Rubber Dance). The stamping isn't the best but because this is a journal I couldn't use my favourite stamp positioner and the surface isn't entirely flat, so it's a bit grungy as a result.
I finished with some highlighting in white with a Graphmaster pen and added a die-cut title (Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Adventure Words: Script by Tim Holtz).
Do check out the inspiration from my teamies on the Country View Challenges blog and join us to be in a chance to win a £20 voucher to spend on new crafting goodies...

That's weird - came up with only the first photo to start with, so I assumed I was hopping - now they're all there, so I can see I'm right!! The colours are right up my street, and I love all the dynamic movement with those planes swooping and steam train heading right for us. Brilliant page spread.
