Last of the summer beach

Before the memories of this exceptional (at least in Europe) summer fades into our memories, I want to share my last makes for the Crafty Individuals Hochanda show in August.

First up, one that has been seen in the background during the programme, the one I named "Beach walk". I used inks to create my beach and sky with the help of Tim Holtz Layered Stencil: Rays.

I used masking tape to make sure my sea would be horizontal and a torn piece of paper to create a natural looking seashore.

The focal image, Just be my friend is fussy cut and coloured with alcohol pens.

I added a bird and seashells (on the sand) from the Seaside Treasure plate, then created a frame with Tim Holtz 3D embossing folder - Lumber.

Second, the wonderful Tropical sunset which I showed you before but this time on standard cardstock. Amazing the difference the paper makes, as although the card is not textured, the inking is nowhere as smooth as on the glossy cardstock I used on my previous make.

I added a motif and a sentiment from the Seaside Treasure plate, the former embossed with Wow Perissa embossing powder.

I hope you enjoyed my beach series, I now need to mothball these favourite stamps of mine as the C word has been bandied about quite a lot and, yes, we crafters need to start on the Christmas cards if we haven't already!
I am entering the SSS Monday ChallengeSSS Wednesday and Stamping Sensations challenges.

  2. Quite bozarre Christine, I cam earlier and just got a blank page, bloggers antics are beyond me sometimes.

But all is clear now and two beautiful cards and scenes where I could happily spend a few hours. Many thanks for sharing with us at Stamping Sensations 'I Spy' theme and I am guessing your 'B's are blue, bird and beach and could even be boy as well.
