Mini tag book

The last 2 weeks I have been following the tutorials published for the Fodder Challenge #3. You can still register (it's free) to access the tutorials until the 4th of August, after which they will form part of their next Fodder school lessons.

This project is using the tutorial no 9 by  @meganquinlanstudio and some of the items I made in lesson 1.

Inside pages:

With the tags out of the pocket pages:

Quite an easy project and I thoroughly enjoyed using "old" stamps to decorate it, mostly STAMPlorations but also Rubber Dance (front cover) and Polkadoodles (Back cover) as well as a Unity sentiment (centre tag).

I had hoped the Fodder Challenge would help kick my creativity back into action and spur me into crafting and yes, it did that and took me out of my comfort zone too! Well worth doing, even if "fodder" is not your go to style of crafting.

Colourful Boat

To bring a bit of colour to our grey English summer, I inked up this detailed stamp (Crafty Individuals: CI-559 Of the Sea) with a variety of bright inks:

I added a colourful border with washi tape (AALL & Create Washi Tape #13 - Fasteners) that I enhanced with red and blue alcohol ink markers.

As a finishing touch I added a small tag I had stamped on glossy cardstock moons ago, also from Crafty Individuals (CI-428 It's a man's world).

NOT going to the next round

Hello crafters, today I have another inspiration make for the Country View Challenge on the theme of 4 Legged Friend, hosted this month by Sue

Today's page is a send up of a very popular talent show. I'm not a great lover of that show as I feel over the years it's become less about the talent and more about the dramas but it's one of these silly ideas that popped up in my mind looking at the meerkats stamp set. Go figure!

I battled with the Gelli plate for a suitable background. It had to be dark enough and not too busy, so after trying out stencils, and several mix of colours I got to this nondescript page.

I used 2 meerkats stamps (one for the contestants and one for the judges) and coloured them with pencils.

I put the meerkats (Katzelkraft KTZ 216) in the spotlight by adding some yellow paint.

I created the banner on the computer.

The meerkats are not in stock anymore, but this would be so funny with other Katzelkraft sets with their bizarre "animals".

You have one week left so hop to it and create a 4 Legged Friend (domestic or wild) project and link up to the Country View Challenge. You can enter up to 5 times and there is a £20 voucher for the Country View Craft shop. to win.

This is the last post on the Country View Challenges blog as we are taking a break in August and September whilst changes are made to the way the challenge is run.

Silhouette stamping

Dear followers and fellow crafters,

I have been trying to use products I haven't used in a while and today I played with alcohol inks and an embossing folder!

The image is from Crafty Individuals (CI-471 Make a Wish) and the sentiment from CI-449 My Favourite Place.

I layered the matted image on a piece of Core'dinations embossed with the  Sizzix Tim Holtz  Embossing Folder - Lumber (662718) inked with Versafine in Pinecone.

There you have it, a bit of colour to enliven the day!

Tropical frame

Hello crafters, today I have another inspiration make for the Country View Challenge on the theme of 4 Legged Friend, hosted this month by Sue.

I first stamped the sloth image (Creative Stamping magazine issue 57 from 2018) in Versafine Clair in Acorn and masked it.
I used Distress inks and a brush to add a sky and greenery around the sloth.

Then with many leaves and hibiscus die-cuts I created a frame around the sloth as if peeping through the jungle. The leaves and flowers are popped up on foam pads of different heights and the very fine ones are supported by the bigger die-cuts.

Unlike my last card (here) this was time consuming, but a technique I do enjoy as something different, inspired by my Floating Frame card.

I have 1 more inspiration make for you next week, but don't delay and create a 4 Legged Friend (domestic or wild) project and link up to the Country View Challenge. You can enter up to 5 times and there is a £20 voucher for the Country View Craft shop. to win.

A Fox among the flowers

Welcome to my second inspiration post for the our Country View Challenge! The theme chosen by the lovely Sue is 4 Legged friend and I have a foxy little number for you...

I stamped the fox from AALL & Create (set #529) directly on my base card using the stamping platform as it is a big stamp, and the platform helps in capturing all the details!

I coloured the image with water-based markers.

I will be back for more inspiration but in the meantime, your turn to create a Birthday card for men and link up your project to the Country View Challenge for the chance to win a £20 voucher for the Country View Craft shop.

Email subscription/Feedburner

The Blogspot bloggers among you are probably aware that the email module and email subscription widget we have been using have been turned off earlier this year.
If you had subscribed to my blog updates by email, you will receive again my updates with a brand new format which has a similar look and feel to my blog. I hope you will like it! And the first email will be for this very post.

As things have got a tendency to go wrong this in fact did not happen and it took me a few days to correct the set-up for the emails to be produced correctly but I believe they are now sent as expected.

Do check your spam folder for emails from Crafty Endeavours and add the address to your safe list if they don't make it to your inbox.

And if you don't follow me by email and would like to, use the "Follow by email" box in the right-hand column to enter your email and click on the submit button.

However, if you don't wish to receive my updates, there is a link at the bottom of each mail to unsubscribe, no sense in filling your inbox with unwanted mail!

If you follow my blog with Blogger or with a RSS reader (Feedly, Feeder etc...) there are no changes, at least this is what I understood.

Do let me know if you receive more than one mail...

Badger and Fantasea

Welcome to July and my first post for the new Country View Challenge
The theme chosen by the lovely Sue is 4 Legged friend.

I am starting with this badger, a Lavinia stamp:

I stamped the Badger (LAV443) and the Fantasea (LAV721) and masked them before stamping the Fairy Fir Tree (LAV478).

I then used Distress inks with brushes and torn paper to create sky, hills, lake and grass.

I used colour pencils for the Fantasea, badger and sun.

Finally, I added some Berry Leaves (LAV577) with green inks and some punched flowers. Full disclosure - the flowers are hiding a mishap with a mushroom stamp...

I will be back for more inspiration but, in the meantime, it's your turn to create a project featuring a 4 Legged animal (and not a bird as per my initial thoughts...) and link it up to the Country View Challenge for the chance to win a £20 voucher for the Country View Craft shop.
