The current challenge at the Craft Barn is to create a retiform. If you've never heard of retiform Dawn's tutorial reveals all.
Initially, I was going to use vintage tones for this, just like Dawn, but changed my mind when I saw the Rubber Dance April challenge palette of pink, grey and blue, a more "happy" colour scheme.
Last week I'd been using butterflies from a neglected Docraft set thinking that I just don't find the images in this set very easy to use, yet love the designs... so I thought I should ink them up just coz', and not worry about who I can send the card to!
I also used some background stamps from Rubber Dance, the Diamond and netting.
I really enjoyed my "stamping for fun session" and indulged in multi-inking my stamps, including mixing my dye inks with pigment inks, something I'm sure we are not supposed to do, but (creative) needs must...
I think mixing stuff is essential - and if it works, go for it! Love the colours and all those stamps.
ReplyDeleteFun card. Love the wellies and the look of the notepad. And who doesn't like lazy days? :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Love those wellies. Hugz
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love how you've used our colour scheme this month. So pretty! This Retiform reminds me of the Grids that were very popular back in the early 2000s, only difference is that those open areas were rectangular and squares, but they, too, had that same shading of the lines. I haven't made one in ages, but I really want to make some again now that I've seen yours. Thank you so much for entering our April challenge and for using two of my stamps as well! ♥
ReplyDeleteStamping for fun is the best Christine and your mixes of stamps worked so well on this make.
