Box card

Do you feel, like me, that you are wasting those beautiful double sided 12x12 papers by only using one side?

If so, this fairly simply constructed shaped card is for you... it allows both sides of the paper to get seen and only requires your basic crafting tools.

Easy shaped card

The finished card measures 6"X6" and opens up to reveal a message, gift card or similar.

I have prepared a photo heavy step by step:

First find the centre of the 12"12 paper by drawing the 2 diagonal lines on what will be the inside of your card.

Fold the left and right side to meet in the middle and score.
Do the same for the top and bottom.

If you have a motif that has a definite direction such as text, place the sheet on your cutting matt the right way up, before cutting along the horizontal score lines up to the first vertical fold (3").

Fold and score the cut paper aligning with the vertical fold as shown.

Repeat for all sides and turn your paper over, now you can see the box taking shape.

Glue the square tabs you have created to the inside of the long sides of the paper.

It should look like this.

To finish the front, cut a square of cardstock, another piece of Photoplay paper, and 4 strips of cardstock.

Assemble as shown and add any embellishments, tags, or sentiment as you wish.

For mine I added a fishtail banner and flower die-cut with the Studio Light So Spring Cutting & Embossing Die Set - No.78 and a gem.

For the inside I stamped the sentiment and 2 leaves from the Woodware Bold Blooms set, matted on cardstock.

Supplies:
Photoplay Paper Aloha 12" x 12" Paper - Pineapple Grove and Parrot Bay
Studio Light So Spring Cutting & Embossing Die Set - No.78
Eleganza Craft 8 mm Glitter Gems - Light Pink
Woodware Clear Stamp Set - Bold Blooms Amanda

There you have it, a single sheet of 12x12, no waste and both sides can be enjoyed!

Happy crafting,
