Wildlife in my garden

Today I'm showing my second inspiration piece for the Country View Challenges on the Summer Garden theme, hosted by the lovely Jane.

I was sure I had taken pictures of the work in progress but I guess I was too involved and completely forgot!

Still, the techniques involved in this CAS card are simple, just time consuming.

I first masked with torn paper a band of my base card and stamped my Badger (Lavinia) with Versafine black ink. Then I masked the badger and applied Distress inks to give a meadow impression fading the colours upwards from green to blue and dark to light.

I stamped the larger wildflower stamp at the bottom (Gorjuss - The White Rabbit stamp set) and the smaller (Flonzcraft - Grass and Meadow Borders) at the top using a mixture of inks and colours. When I removed the masking I added some Linen Distress ink on the badger to knock off the stark white as it looked odd.

There you have it, another wild garden for me but completely different to my first Mixed Media feel card.

You still have over 2 weeks to enter our Country View Challenges, plenty of inspiration from all the teamies and the chance to win a £ 20 voucher to spend on some lovely goodies...

Thanks for coming by,
I am entering the Allsorts, Lost Coast Designs,  Craft Stamper, That's Crafty, Fashionable Stamping, Stamping Sensations challenges.

  1. He's certainly a lovely Badges isn't he Christine, mine is sadly little used still but you have showcased him beautifully here. And we do indeed have a set of them in our top paddock, shy fellows and we don't see them often. Many thanks for joining us at Allsorts and Stamping Sensations ;In my Gardewn' themes.

  3. Perfectly gorgeous Christine! I am glad that I am in good coming about becoming so wrapped up in creating that the step by step photos go amiss! You have explained it so well no photos are needed anyhow. The badger is beautiful I think it is one of the few Lavinia Stamps I don’t have! You have created such a pretty meadow for him to wander along in. Xx

    Bisous, bon dimanche.

Your CAS makes are always amazing you always make them look simple but as we all know they are probably the hardest to do.
