More Garden Treasures

Today I'm showing a second card made with Julie Hickey's Garden Treasures stamp set.

I have written a step by step for you but, if you are short on time, you can hop on to this Facebook post and slideshow:

As you see in the picture on the right, I made myself an octagonal template to use with my stamping platform to make it easy to stamp equally spaced motifs.

1. I first placed the central sentiment to be sure I would not encroach with any other stamps later.

2. I placed my first foliage branch on the template to fit as closely as I could around the sentiment, making sure it would nearly fit I 1/8th of a circle.

3. Placing my cardstock centrally on top of the template I am starting to stamp

4. rotating the hexagon 1/4 turn each time. I now place a second motif directly on the stamped cardstock and pick it up with the stamping platform.

5. I carry on placing the stamps and stamping with different colours of ink.
Note that I remove the used stamp each time but I left the sentiment until the end.

6. To complete the circle I place the first stamp again to fit between the other motifs. I finish with the sentiment with Walnut Distress Oxide ink.

After all the stamping I added some colour with pencils and some Nuvo Drops on the green foliage.

Je retiens ton idée, je vais essayer d'en faire une aussi sur ce principe, et en suivant ton tuto. Et me fabriquer un hexagone comme le tien.

  6. I really love the vivid colours against the kraft, and the textured "berries" on each frond look just wonderful.
