Woman of letters

You know the drill, the 1st of the month is the kick off for the Country View Challenge and Evelyn has chosen Letters & Numbers as the theme.

For my first make I went with letters and made a journal page.

First I prepared my pages with a coat of gesso and glued a printed paper as a shortcut to a colourful background.  As that paper is slightly smaller than the journal page, I added washi tape as a border.

Then I placed some adhesive letters on the page as masks .
This particular sheet hasn't got any E's left therefore pretty useless so this is a good way to use them up!

With the masks in place I applied Fresco paint in Butter around the letters.
Then I used Blueberry to darken the page all around the outside.
For some background interest I stamped with a script image (Paper Artsy ESN10) with white paint.

More stamping next, with the lady (ID02) and Wisdom (ESN07) in black, "A few pencil lines" (also ESN07) in blue and eggplant all from Paper Artsy.

To finish I added my title with white acrylic paint and to make it pop a bit more I used a black pencil around it.
Take of the masks and voila...

Quite pleased with the masking, less so with my handwriting but I didn't have the right stamp!

If you haven't already come by the Country View Challenges blog to see the inspiration from the whole DT and enter the challenge. If you do you could win a £20 voucher to spend on crafty stash....

Thanks for coming by,
.

  9. Ah oui BRAVO Christine !!!
Une belle réutilisation de tout ce matériel dont on se sert beaucoup trop peu, et de découpes en papier qui nous restent... Il faut absolument que je propose à l'asso des projets de ce style.
    Merci :)
